Sep 15, 2016

In just a week on Sept 21st Xiaomi went to launch the Mi Powerbank Pro. Today, Xiaomi has uploaded a teaser resembling a powerbank with USB Type-C port.

The teaser image, which has a figure “100” on it, hints at the different USB ports that the new powerbank will be featuring. The “1” resembles a USB 2.0 port, the first “0” a USB Type-C port and the second “0” a micro USB port. And below the “100” reads a Chinese idiom that is an equivalent of “killing two birds with one stone” in English. Based on what we’ve seen, we can expect a new Mi powerbank with the earlier mentioned ports, though we’re not sure whether the the powerbank can be charged via the micro USB and the Type-C port simultaneously.

The three ports of charging also indicate that the power bank will be able to charge three devices at the same time but in that case, the power bank internal capacity should b huge enough to fulfill demand of three devices simultaneously.

We know that Xiaomi leverages social media and word of mouth to build brand image. They know very well that this system of promotion is based on information that incites curiosity. Techonologie enthusiasts are compared sometimes with explorers are guided by symbols. They feel the desire to pursue an information source and discover news. And Xiaomi has confirmed that he knows how to approach the best.
