Remember the grievances expressed at the beginning of Xiaomi non-participation in MWC 2017 opposite? And I was among those unhappy. Especially since this refusal comes after the departure of a person basis. However, Xiaomi managed to stand out. The contract signed with Nokia confirms that their research is not just the production of smartphones and other gadgets. Xiaomi representatives have said many times that smartphones are only a step in their plan. It is a profitable stage now, but it is a step in a very broad plan. This contract Xiaomi lead discussions about potential new directions.

Nokia is set to help Xiaomi connect seven of its data centres in Beijing by supplying the Chinese electronics giant with a high speed fibre-optic network. Bolstering its connectivity, Xiaomi aims to reduce bottlenecks in data transport while ensuring high speed, lower latency internet services to its customers. For the network, Nokia will use its data center interconnect (DCI) solution, based on the company’s 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) and managed by the Network Services Platform.

The seven data centers of Xiaomi in and around Beijing that use fiber networks to private cloud serv ices will be linked with Nokia’s data interconnect solutions.
