Manu Jain, Xiaomi India head, has said that the company has sold over 2 million smartphones in just one quarter, while registering a 150 per cent year-over-year growth.

“For the 1st time we surpassed 2+ Mn sales in one quarter (Q3 this year). A whopping 150+% YoY growth, from Q3 2015 to Q3 2016!” said Manu Jain.

In India, the company started sales via online channels or rather flash sales, but soon started taking strides into the offline world. I would have preferred that this report contains details on how many sales were online, offline and how many on each flash sales.

Xiaomi Indian team is in between that of China and that of the US. The three markets seem to be different. In reality, it is only a gap of education. Indian market is the last position. It is an emerging market. A market that educate. There are several reasons why Xiaomi sells so well in India and less well in China. Not just the price. Or competition. Or network online and offline sales. Try to imagine what will be in a few years when the market smart of India will approach the level of present US. Then they will see the true value of the Chinese team. How quickly will be able to educate their fans to efficiently use smartphones.
