About Xiaomi Redmi 2 smartphone
The Xiaomi Redmi 2 is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Chipset and come with 2 variants, normal version which pack 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM and enhanced version which pack 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. The Redmi 2 offers Android 4.4.4 Kitkat, with proprietary MIUI v6 custom graphical user interface pre-installed by the manufacturer and can be upgraded to MIUI v7 via OTA. The Redmi 2 comes with a factory-unlocked bootloader, allowing users from the outset to further develop the OS and “root” the device, or gain legitimate privileged control in Android’s subsystem. The software-development community has released custom ROMs and Kernels for the phone, even though the lack of any kernel sources provided by the manufacturer. The kernel sources were released a year later.The Redmi 2 has achieved unofficial stable builds of CyanogenMod 11 (Android 4.4), 12.1 (Android 5.1), 13.0 (Android 6.0.1).
