Wang Xiang, Xiaomi’s senior vice president, said in an interview with CNET there are definite plans for a US launch in two years.

“We don’t have a fixed timeline, but probably two years, if not sooner. It’s ambitious but we want to get into these markets as soon as possible,” he said. (source cnet.com)

2 years? Much? Little? I do not know what to say. It depends on what other smart-makers do. If it develops slowly, it’s two years. I’m going fast. If it develops faster than 2 years it may be too late.

What seems to me now important is that they want to enter the US and the EU markets. Vor. But I can not. They are cautious. And these markets are now dominated by corporations that have risked. They are led by people who know the importance of a risky decision. There are major differences. It’s clear.

What is good for Xiaomi is that it develops radially. It grows around. Little by little. Go ahead, search and then launch. They are very good strategists. At the technological level they have confirmed that they can produce high-quality objects in series. Something is missing. Courage? Supporting an Uncle? There is something that prevents them now from entering the two markets.
