Xiaomi fans waiting for several weeks in India launch the Redmi Note 4 smartphone in India.
Today, the company has sent out media invites for a launch event in New Delhi on January 19. Though the invite doesn’t really mention what’s in store for the event, going by the rumors, it could be the launch of the Redmi Note 4. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was launched in China back in August 2016 and as the name suggests it is the successor to the highly popular Redmi Note 3. Xiaomi had claimed that it sold more than 2.3 million Redmi Note 3 devices in the country. As per International Data Corporation (IDC), the device was the most successful on the online channels.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 flaunts a 5.5-inch 1080p display, and in China it is powered by a MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core SoC. But due to the ongoing patent battle with Ericsson in India, Xiaomi will be switching to a Qualcomm SoC. The rest of the specifications include a 13-megapixel rear camera LED flash, 5-megapixel selfie camera, a 4,100mAh battery, fingerprint sensor, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots (hybrid setup), 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Redmi Note is very popular in India. I think it was worth Redmi Note 5 to launch first from them.
In China, the base 16GB Redmi Note 4 variant with 2GB RAM is priced at RMB 899 (approximately Rs 9,000). The 64GB variant with 3GB RAM, on the other hand, is priced RMB 1,199 (Rs 12,000 approximately).
